Coremernt on Donovan's "Animal Rights and Feminist Theory" NEL NODDINGS I was dismayed to read in Josephine Donovan's article (Signs 15, no. 2 [Winter 1990]: 350-75) that my ethical position is marred by "unexamined speciesism" (374, n. 86). Donovan and I surely differ on a major issue-whether or not it is unethical to eat meat-but I Nel Noddings does not look at the mental processes that define learning; therefore, her views of learning are more contextual than scientific.
